Experience

I have nearly 10 years of experience working with youth and young adults. In addition to outpatient therapy experience with Family Health Centers of San Diego serving clients age 18+ , previous pediatric roles include providing psychotherapy through Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego and Valle Verde Pediatrics in Poway. I also provided crisis intervention services at The Bridge for Youth and conducted in-home therapy at Washburn Center for Children, both located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I have also facilitated various therapeutic and life skills groups for caregivers and youth in Minneapolis and St. Louis, Missouri.

In my free time, I enjoy trying new restaurants with my husband, playing guitar, and going on hikes around San Diego.

TherapeutIc APproaches

I view treatment with my clients as a collaboration, no matter their age. I incorporate several modalities and approaches into my work and customize each intervention to fit each individual client:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Behavior Management Training and parent support

  • First Approach Skills Training

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • Solution-Focused Therapy

  • Strengths-Based Therapy

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

When working with children, I incorporate parents and caregivers into sessions whenever appropriate. I have found that leveraging parents’ insight and existing relationships with their child strongly impacts treatment goal achievement. Additionally, I can offer guidance to parents about how they can positively influence their child’s symptoms.
